Understand hazardous areas
A location where an explosive atmosphere could develop is regarded as a "hazardous area", with definitions found in several Australian Standards. This includes three zones for flammable gas and vapour atmospheres: 0 - nearly always present; 1 - normally present occasionally; and 2 - not normal present but it it is, for short periods only; and zones 20, 21 and 22 refer to combustible dust atmospheres.
