Royce Cross Group is a diversified Adelaide-based company boasting a rich history and a strong presence across electrical and mechanical engineering industries. Founded on principles of innovation and customer service, it has grown significantly since its inception more than 50 years ago. 

After a decade in the electric motor industry, Royce and Christine Cross launched Royce Cross Agencies in 1972 with the vision of selling quality products with integrity to Australian customers. In the next three decades, Royce built an industry reputation for a strong work ethic and vast mechanical and electrical knowledge, selling an ever-growing range of quality electric motors and associated products, such as gearboxes and variable-speed drives, to customers across Australia. 

Son Phillip joined the business in the early 1990s, learning every facet of the business. During the past four decades, Phillip has assisted numerous South Australian and national businesses to grow with Royce Cross products. He reflects on visiting owners of what are now multi-national firms when they were starting out. He recalls calling on one customer who was creating electrical products from his back shed while perched on a plastic milk crate. That customer now runs a nationally successful business. Such long-term relationships are matched by an eagerness to assist customers to succeed is in Royce Cross’s DNA.

How Royce Cross Group evolved

More than 15 years ago, Phillip and wife Karen expanded their business, adding established companies AJF Electrical Distributors and C&A Chains and Accessories. The company began trading under the Royce Cross Group umbrella, selling a vast range of electrical and mechanical engineering products, from lugs and terminals to chain and gears to large mining motors, lightning protection, conveyor systems, busway and much more.
